EAGAN, Minn. -- (July 2, 2008) - As a result of the continuing increases in the price of jet fuel, NWA Cargo will raise its fuel surcharges in certain markets effective July 15, 2008, subject to government approval where required.
Surcharges for shipments from the U.S. to Korea and Japan, as well as Korea to the U.S., will increase from $1.20 to $1.25 per kilogram. Trans-Atlantic shipments, except shipments continuing to Asia, will also increase from $1.20 to $1.25 per kilogram.
Westbound trans-Pacific surcharges from the U.S. to Shanghai (PVG) and Guangzhou (CAN) will increase from $0.50 to $0.55 per kilogram.
Surcharges on the longest routes in the NWA cargo network, including all other shipments between the U.S. and Asia, will increase from $1.30 to $1.35 per kilogram.
Domestic U.S. fuel surcharges will remain unchanged.
